Introduction

INEC is an acronym that stands for Independent National Electoral Commission and they are the electoral body that is saddled with the clear responsibility of conducting elections in Nigeria. Before the period of the Nigeria independence, the 1959 federal election was conducted by the Electoral Commission of Nigeria (ECN). The Federal Electoral Commission conducted the immediate post-independence federal and regional elections of 1964 and 1965. In that vein, the FEC was later dissolved while FEDCO was constituted to conduct both the 1979 and 1983 General elections.

In December 1995, the National Electoral Commission (NECOM) was established by the then Abacha’s Government. The INEC was later established in the year 1988 by the Government of Abdulsalam Abubakar as the electoral body that will conduct the 1999 elections in Nigeria.

INEC has conducted series of General Elections since its creation in 1998 and they are the electoral body that is going to conduct the 2023 General Elections. They are independent and apolitical. Their interest is to see that the best candidate is elected into office through the people’s choice.

You can be selected to work for INEC in this forthcoming General elections. However, it would be right to reiterate that for you to be accepted to work with INEC as a temporary staff in this forthcoming general election, you must meet up with their eligibility criteria.

You must have email address, phone number, Bank Account Number, passport and Student ID Number displaying on Your school ID Card. A copy of your highest qualification and a copy of means of identification.
