The MTN Scholarship Scheme is an annual scholarship that aims to reward and honor deserving and outstanding students. It consists of the MTN Scholarship Scheme for Blind Students (MTN SSBS) and the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship Scheme (MTN STSS). The both scholarship awards are made in support of the youth empowerment cause.

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)
Since 2010, our flagship program has been available to qualified 300-level students enrolled in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Nigeria who are pursuing degrees in science and technology. Scholarships worth N200,000.00 are given to 300 deserving students each year till graduation, providing they maintain the necessary marks. You may be selected among the successful students this year, kindly take your time and submit application for this scholarship.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)
Launched in 2012 with a focus on qualified blind students enrolled in 200- and 300-level courses at Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education in Nigeria. If they retain the necessary grades, 60 successful blind students will receive scholarships worth N200,000.00 per year till graduation.
The top 10 scorers in the UTME, as reported by JAMB, will starting in 2020 automatically be eligible for the top 10 UTME scholarship. If the chosen candidates maintain the required grades from their 100 level until graduation, they would get scholarships totaling N200,000.00.
Who is eligible for the MTN Undergraduates Scholarship Scheme?
Students from Nigeria enrolled in undergraduate programs are eligible for the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) and MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS). Likewise students from University, Polytechnic, and Colleges of Education students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions are qualified to submit their application now for this scholarship program.
Course or Study
The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is available to 300-level students enrolled in science and technology-related programmes at Nigerian public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education).
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is available to blind students enrolled in any programme at the 200 and 300 level in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education).
Level of Study
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
Given that the academic calendar is not uniform across all public tertiary institutions, the application is open to both students who have passed their second semester 200 level exams and are advancing to the 300 level as well as those who are already enrolled in the 300 level.
The SBS, an MTN Scholarship for Blind Students, provides:
Blind students in any Nigerian public tertiary institution (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education) enrolled in the 200 and 300 level are eligible to apply. Only 300 level students, however, are eligible to apply for the MTN Scholarship for blind students studying law, which is a 5-year degree.

Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
STEM Students in Public Universities, and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit)
STEM Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
Direct Entry level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
Blind Students in the Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
